With BaseCamp and a BirdsEye Satellite Imagery subscription, you can transfer an unlimited amount of satellite images to your outdoor or fitness device and seamlessly integrate those images into your maps to get a true representation of your surroundings. It makes it easy to scout campsites, sources of water, potential hazards and more. If you prefer raster topographic maps, you can also download BirdsEye Select maps and pay only for the data you download.
You can still downgrade to 4.6.3 for the missing functionality. However MapInstall 4.3.2 or later is fixed (at least with the download directly from Garmin or from here - the Mac Appstore version sometimes does not update MapInstall) - so just make sure not to use Basecamp 4.7. and if you upgrade to Basecamp 4.8.4 or later.
you have to move the folders from the .7z download. The structure of Cyprus and Europe inside the Product1 folder has to be the same. Simple as that. Just that you will need way more 6* and 7* (or 9* if you want 10m contourlines) folders in there.
b) download the OSx (Mac) version of all openmtbmaps/velomaps in .gmap format. You can install them by placing them into the C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\maps\mtbCOUNTRY.gmap respectively C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\maps\veloCOUNTRY.gmap and better read the OSx tutorial too: -maps-mac-osx/ respectively for Velomap users here: -maps-mac-osx/
Getting the same but if you scroll further down the page you get the option to download from another source, try that instead, it's working. I'll let the admin at gpsrchive know there's an issue with the exe links
Hi,I can't seem to open the older 4.6.2 all it does is open another tab with a blued EXE? I click on that and I go (I Think) to the old link I had that didn't work! Let me know what you come up with? After about a 10 second wait I was prompted for a destination folder for the download. It was downloaded without issue (102 MB) and Norton AV said it was clean. As I said before I did not attempt to install anything from the downloaded file.

This would be the first time I know of where Garmin has diverged in version numbers from the windows and Mac versions. Also, Garmin seems to be hiding basecamp, maybe discouraging new users from downloading it? It's not readily accessible from their website as it used to be.
I like the opentopomap's style of map. To get up to date maps on my Garmins i download from opentopo. Recently the Garmin.img file seems to be much smaller than the PC basecamp version and i cannot get it to work. I have got the PC version to display with Basecamp running on a Win10 PC but it won't export the map to my Oregon 650 either. Any ideas please? and
Hi Andy, The newer basecamp versions 4.7.2 breaks the mapinstall feature to export maps form basecamp to your device. Instead You can download the .IMG Format version from opentopomap en copy it to your device SD card manually. I think basecamp 4.6.2 is the latest version which still works. If I remember correctly, it also has been fixed if you install the mapinstall update package. _details.jsp?id=3291
