If you are having a trouble with firmware, and your modem released any updates, ie better wifi, autosense, etc. download the modem firmware prior to the globesurfer firmware. otherwise firmware will be incompatible. In the case of mine the light goes red, but is still on, when I connect, but router not’t get online. I had to reload the router, and reconnect!
Firmware for my modem and router are up to date. Even with those updates I’ve had to update. (even after I reinstall and try to get on wifi, then restart and try a different wifi network all as a test to see if it is wifi related) (as in 2 or 3 goes, light goes green then red, then back to green when the 2nd wifi try fails with same exact issue. Maybe the issue’s firmware is not fully compatible with your modem. firmware is dated – but that is not always the issue, especially when it’s clear the firmware is up to date (i.e., version number matches the modem’s version number and the modem is loading a new firmware success, ie the light turns red).
