With its subsequent re-releases, FlyInside has grown into a classic that's been continually developed and improved over the years. The free version of the simulator is considered one of the best available.
Precision Flight Simulations developed Freeflight for the PC, and it was met with critical and commercial success. The game included not only an excellent simulation of an aircraft, but also a chance to customize your cockpit, adding both moving parts such as joysticks, as well as static parts like instrument panels. This also allowed the game to represent a large number of aircraft in the early days, from World War II-era jets, to modern jet fighters.
The genre had grown with the development of computer graphics technology, in particular, the ability to more realistically simulate complex systems like aircraft cockpits and engines. But the sheer size and scope of the programming required to simulate an entire aircraft made it a formidable task for a single developer, and by the late 1980s, the market had consolidated. In the mid-1990s, flight sims began to appear on consoles such as the PCjr, Playstation, and Dreamcast, giving players a chance to pick up a second aircraft and fly it in tandem.
Freeflight was followed by other well-received titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, and the genre continued to grow, becoming the number one genre on the PC in the early 2000s, with an estimated market size of $2 billion.
The release of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2013 marked a return to a more traditional gaming environment, but flight sims continue to dominate. Virtually every gaming platform has some form of flight simulation, and the genre remains strong. There are new and innovative developers every day, and the genre continues to grow in variety, complexity, and realism.
Whether you're looking for realistic graphics, control systems or technology, this game will give it to you in spades. It's one of the best high-tech flight simulation titles I've played, and just because it's a mobile game, the fact that it's a mobile game makes it super-rewarding. Any serious flight simulator fan should play it. 827ec27edc
