Panerai returns to its root beginnings to celebrate Radiomir prototype
For more than a century, the Panerai family’s legacy has been connected with precision instruments intended for the exploits of the Swedish army.
Commissioned by the Italian Royal Deep blue to provide high-precision instruments, Guido Panerai started it all if he was patented in 1916 for Radiomir, a radium-based substance that glowed after dark to improve visibility.
An archival receipt signifies that the Radiomir prototype opened their gates in 1935 and the hoagie structure was adapted in the past and is now made from just simply two stacked plates. Different improvements include a crown guardian and a new luminous ingredient called Luminor. It was a wrist watch produced strictly for the armed service, which used it until the first 1970s, and its design seemed to be protected by military secrecy.
Part of the Radiomir Officine family, Panerai features launched a limited edition observe with redesigned elements this bring its aesthetic more detailed than ever to its beginnings. The watch includes polished stainless steel 45 millimeters case with a signature tapered crown, a brown matte skeleton dial with hr markers and numerals solely at twelve and six to eight o'clock, and beige Super-Luminova® The material glows green at midnight.
